COLUMBUS, Ohio — There’s nothing better than strolling a summer festival with a cold beverage in hand, and at this year’s Columbus Arts Festival, Rhinegeist Brewing, Go Brewing and High Bank Distillery will provide refreshing adult beverages for thirsty Festival guests. Presented by the American Electric Power Foundation and produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), the Arts Festival takes place June 7-9.
Returning for a third year, Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist Brewery will host the Big Local Beer Garden in West Bank Park, steps away from the popular Big Local Arts Village. In addition to serving a selection of their beers, Rhinegeist provides shaded seating and fun group games. The draft beer list will include popular choices like their signature Truth IPA, Cincy Light American lager, Lawnchair Hotrod tropical lager and Beer for Humans session ale, as well as ciders and hard craft tea.
“Rhinegeist has been such a wonderful partner for us the past two years,” says Festival Director Alexis Perrone. “Not only do they bring us quality beer, cider and tea, but their team activates such an engaging beer garden, with colorful shaded areas and lawn games that they build at the brewery itself. We’re proud to be supporting an Ohio brewery, in addition to all the Ohio artists who join us for the Festival.”
For guests who appreciate the taste and quality of a craft beer without the alcohol, the Festival will also sell non-alcoholic brews from Go Brewing at all beverage booths. Selections include Go Brewing’s Not Just Another Story double IPA (.48% ABV) and Suspended in a Sun Beam pilsner (.46% ABV).
“We’re also excited to add non-alcoholic drinks from Go Brewing,” Perrone continues. “In our continued push to make the Festival experience accessible to all, we’re proud to offer quality craft beers for those who don’t drink alcohol.”
This year the Festival has again partnered with Columbus’ High Bank Distillery to feature a pair of boozy slushies crafted with their award-winning spirits. Available at frozen beverage stations throughout the Festival grounds, High Bank’s Signature Slushies include:
- Cranberry Lime Cosmo: Made with High Bank’s (614) Vodka, the Cosmo strikes the perfect balance of citrus, tart and sweet.
- Tropical Mango Smash: A tart and sweet summer smash with flavors of fresh mango and crisp lime, made with High Bank’s Whiskey War.
“It’s a real treat to collaborate with High Banks and feature their spirits at the Columbus Arts Festival once again,” says Perrone. “Festival guests really enjoyed the creative flavors of the slushies last year. It’s perfect for sipping while you browse artists’ work, catch a performance or generally enjoy the excitement of the Festival.”
In addition to High Bank slushies, plus Rhinegeist and Go Brewing beers, the Festival will feature Wine-in-a-Can from Cleveland’s Graham + Fisk, lemon shake-ups, Pepsi products and food both sweet and savory from nearly 40 food trucks and stands.
Beverage services at the Festival are provided by Columbus nonprofit groups and are an essential part of Festival operations. Each group earns a portion of what they sell plus tips. It’s another way the Festival helps support the Columbus community. Participating groups include:
