COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) is thrilled to welcome Kenneth Eaddy (he/they) as its Columbus Arts Festival & Special Events Coordinator. Eaddy steps into the role filled by Jenica Richards, who will continue as part of the Festival team part-time through the summer.

Eaddy most recently served as the education arts administrator for the King Arts Complex where he worked as the advocate between community partners, parents and children for educational programming. In addition, he was the event/site coordinator for Maroon Arts Group, where he executed programming in concert with committee chairs and volunteers, and facilitated BoxPark rentals and events. Prior to that role, he was a lead instructor for the Lincoln Theatre’s Patternz Summer Camp where he developed and implemented theater curriculum for children ages 6-13.

Eaddy is also a singer/songwriter, activist, dancer and actor, and has opened for several national recording acts. He is a graduate of the Lincoln Theatre’s Expand Your Horizon Incubation Program Fellowship and is currently one of 18 artists in GCAC’s Navigator Program.

“We are thrilled to have Kenneth join GCAC and the Festival team,” says Tom Katzenmeyer, president and CEO of GCAC. “He’s an exciting addition to our organization’s event production, especially in contributing to the Columbus Arts Festival and its robust offerings.”

Eaddy joins Alexis Perrone, who was hired as Festival Director earlier this year, as one of two GCAC employees dedicated to the Columbus Arts Festival. “Kenneth has hit the ground running with the Festival in progress,” says Perrone. “And already he’s been such a valuable addition. I’m looking forward to working with him as we continue producing a strong festival.”

“I am grateful to be joining the team at the Greater Columbus Arts Council,” says Eaddy. “Getting this chance to allow my worlds of performance art, community engagement and administration to intersect at this level is amazing. To do this in partnership with GCAC, which is actively working to make their mission and outreach efforts reflect the very people they serve, is truly a dream realized. I look forward to making my community proud and having lots of fun learning all things Columbus Arts Festival!”

The Columbus Arts Festival returns June 9-11, 2023 to the downtown riverfront. For more information visit columbusartsfestival.org.
