Poetry Applications Now Available for 2013 Columbus Arts Festival

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable and produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council will celebrate its 52nd year of bringing the best in fine art and fine craft to Columbus June 7, 8 & 9, 2013 Located along the Scioto Mile at the Downtown Riverfront, the Festival area encompasses Bicentennial Park and the Main and Rich Street bridges. Approximately 400,000 art and food lovers attend each year.
Columbus has some of the most talented spoken word artists in the country and the Columbus Arts Festival features the best of the best each year. Poets chosen through an audition process will have an exciting opportunity to share their work at appointed times on Friday through Sunday of the festival in the Word is Art tent—a location dedicated to poetry performance.
The online application is now available at http://columbusartsfestival.org/application/poets/signup and covers the specifics of participation. Each applicant is required to submit two (2) poems with the application. A panel of judges will review the written work, from which they will select poets to audition.
Deadline to apply is January 14, 2013 at 5 p.m.
Applicants will be notified by February 28, if chosen to audition. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 16, at the Thurber Center, 91 Jefferson Ave. Columbus, OH 43215 starting at 12:30 p.m.

Festival Hours: Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
