COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Arts Festival presented by American Electric Power (AEP) is looking for energetic, fun-loving individuals to join their corps of volunteers for the 2019 festival June 7-9.
Produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council), the Columbus Arts Festival kicks off summer with a weekend event including more than 260 artists selling work; five stages featuring performances in music, theater, dance and spoken word; more than 40 food and drink vendors; and hands-on art activities and demonstrations.
In order to create this spectacular event for more than 450,000 people, the Arts Council recruits hundreds of volunteers to join their team.
Volunteers, sponsored by Bank of America, do everything from help with the hands-on art activities, to staffing artists’ booths while they take a short break, to being a stagehand. With a commitment of just a few hours, volunteers can be part of the annual event, and will receive a T-shirt, snacks, bottled water and a swag bag.
Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older, and those aged 12-16 must participate with an adult during their shift. Volunteers who monitor artist booths must be 16 or older. Volunteers for the VIP Lounge and beverage booths must be 21 or older.
Visit the Columbus Arts Festival website to see a full list of volunteer opportunities and apply to join the festival team: columbusartsfestival.org/get-involved/volunteer.
Festival Hours: Friday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Please note: on Friday and Saturday artist booths close at 8 p.m.; artists have the option to stay open later.)
