Columbus, Ohio — No festival is complete without food. The Columbus Arts Festival, June 12-14 along the riverfront, brings in more than 40 food vendors to tempt every palate.
“From classic funnel cakes to local favorites this year food tents and trucks will be placed in more locations,” said Scott Huntley festival director. “More seating and tables will be installed at the entertainment stages so that visitors can sit down and enjoy a meal while they experience the festival’s great performances.”
Local foodies will be glad to see Mikey’s Late Night Slice pizza truck serving up their award-winning pie, perennial favorites Schmidts with their famous sausages and cream puffs, and of course national sensation Jeni’s Ice Cream.
Patrons looking for something a little different will enjoy Sweet Carrot Cuisine and their “Fried Arts on a Corncake”—cornmeal dusted artichokes dressed with lemon juice and parmesan cheese, drizzle with chipotle aioli.
“A person could take a world food tour at the Columbus Arts Festival,” said Huntley. “We’ve got Brazilian street food, Italian street food, German sausages, wok-fried soba noodles, pieroiges, stromboli, gyros, Bavarian pretzels, Carolina BBQ, tacos, and of course the all-American staples burgers, fries, and pizza.”
Summer wouldn’t be complete without something refreshing and cold. Smoothies, Italian ice and soda will be in abundance; and, for the 21-and-over crowd, wine and beer trucks will be stationed throughout the festival.
Festival Hours: Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
