COLUMBUS, OH—The Columbus Arts Festival, produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council is pleased to announce the winners of the Chalk Art Contest.
First-place prize of $300 went to Lori Hughes of Galloway, OH (43115). The second-place prize of $250 went Louisa Heyer of Stoutsville, OH (43154), and the third-place prize of $200 went to William Lyman of Columbus, OH (43228). All other participating artists will receive an honorarium.
Nine artists created works of chalk art along Civic Center Drive in downtown Columbus during the 55th Columbus Arts Festival, June 10-12. The chalk art creations are reminiscent of Italian street painting, an engaging art form featuring reproductions and adaptations of famous paintings done in chalk on pavement.
The final chalk creations were judged by Arts Festival Director, Scott Huntley, Michael S. Brown from Experience Columbus, and Tracy Anderson of ABC6.
