Columbus, Ohio- Looking to have some social media fun in preparation for the 2011 Columbus Arts Festival? Tweet and Go Seek (@tweetandgoseek) is a great way to get involved with the Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable. And anyone can participate! More than 300 prizes worth a total of more than $5,000 are up for grabs this year.
The Twitter game @tweetandgoseek is a lot like a scavenger hunt. Local artist and originator of the idea, Matthew Richard Barnes (aka misterbarnes) has created 300+ 4” x 4” collages containing a restaurant, arts organization or Columbus Arts Festival food vendor gift certificate code, or other product offer on the back. There are even some big ticket items like a Cloud Nine package at the Westin and a pair of Columbus Arts Festival VIP passes up for grabs. The collages will be hidden around Columbus starting May 19 and continuing throughout the Festival where Festival goers will find up to 50 each day on the Festival grounds. A picture of each collage and clues to its location are sent out via the @tweetandgoseek account and re-tweeted by the Greater Columbus Arts Council from @ColsArtsFest. The first person to find the art redeems the featured offer at the GCAC Information Booth on site at the Festival or at the restaurant or vendor presenting the offer.
