Emerging Artist Applications Available for 2017 Columbus Arts Festival

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nationally acclaimed Columbus Arts Festival is now accepting online applications for the Emerging Artist Program. Deadline to apply is Jan. 13, 2017 for the 2017 Festival.

The Emerging Artist Program is designed specifically for local artists who have extremely limited or no experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at arts festivals. Artists who apply in this category must be residents of Franklin, Union, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Pickaway, Fayette or Madison counties. The program is designed to attract and excite new Columbus artists to the possibilities of the arts festival circuit, while giving them the practical guidance they need for success.

In addition to a discounted booth fee, Emerging Artists also have display tents provided to them and receive assistance from Festival staff on how to best present their work to the public. To participate in the Columbus Arts Festival through the Emerging Artist Program, artists are required to attend two bootcamps, where Festival staff will explain how to price artwork, how to set up displays and give general information about what artists need to bring during the Festival.

Bootcamps for 2017 are tentatively scheduled for March 18 and April 22, dates are subject to change. Bootcamp non-attendance automatically disqualifies artists from the Festival.

Artists may apply only to the Emerging Artist Program or the standard show, not both. Artists who are just beginning exhibiting at arts festivals are encouraged to apply to the Emerging Artist Program.

Festival Hours: Friday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Please note: on Friday and Saturday artist booths close at 9 p.m.)
