Columbus Arts Festival Offers Hands On Activities for Big Kids

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable, June 3, 4 and 5 announces Hands On Arts Activities just for adults. Columbus’ independent artist groups have created an Art Carnival with games and creative activities to add some artsy fun to your Festival experience. All proceeds benefit the local independent artist groups. All Hands On Art will be open Friday & Saturday, June 3 & 4, noon-10 p.m. and Sunday, June 5 from noon-6 p.m.

Sketches by Asbestos Crew and stand up comedy performances will take place each day:  Friday at 6:30: Asbestos Crew, Matt Horn, Travis Hoewischer; Saturday at 5 p.m. Asbestos Crew, Darrell Dawson, Justin Golak; Sunday at 2:30 Asbestos Crew, Sommer Sterud, Dylan Shelton.

On Friday night at 8 p.m. Shrewdness of Apes will perform followed by Maza Blaska at 9 p.m. On Saturday check out Harboring Ghosts at 8 p.m. and at 9 p.m. Alert New London.

Slingshot birdie balls: will be covered in Velcro to a target with varied points awarded for different areas. ARTillery will distribute points that can earn prizes.

Community Art Vending Machine: Special coins allow you to choose an art piece or mystery selection with Capital City Creatives.

Duckhunt: Join Cloudhaus in a game of modified laser version.

Pinball: Compete alongside the Columbus Idea Foundry by trying your hand at a giant mechanical pinball game that will turn you into an Arts Fest wizard.

Hole in One: A one-hole mini-golf game with Couchfire Collective.

Squirrel and egg bean bag toss: Come out and participate alongside Etsy Team Columbus in this activity.

Flush a Plush: Toilets and toys are served up like only Mother Artists at Work would know.

Bobbing for prints: Printmakers take on the traditional carnival duck pond game presented byPhoenix Rising Print Cooperative.

Angry Geese: A balloon dart game that will be led by Wild Goose Creative.

Collaborative roulette: Spin a series of wheels, and find your path to winning by joining Wonderlandfor this activity.

The All Hands On Art area will feature a Signature Bar for adults that will serve the 50th Festival Signature Belvedere vodka drink, Liquid Art. Juried Festival and local artists will also demonstrate how they create their work at the Expose Yourself! demonstration tent.
