Applications Now Open for 2012 Columbus Art Festival

Columbus, Ohio - The 51st annual Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable is now accepting artist, emerging artist, musician, band, food vendor, caricature artist and street performer applications for the 2012 event which will take place June 1, 2 & 3 along the river front.

Applications for visual artists are accepted in 16 types of media. Artists are chosen by a panel of experts in a blind jury. Typically more than 1,100 applications are received for approximately 230 booth spaces.

Emerging artists are also encouraged to apply. The emerging artist program is designed specifically for artists who have extremely limited or no experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at national arts festivals. This program is open to artists in Franklin and surrounding counties.

Applications are also open to all bands & musicians, poets, caricature artists, street performers, and many more. Chosen participants will be appointed times throughout the festival.

Food vendors from across Columbus are invited to submit applications to serve hungry arts festival patrons.

The Columbus Arts Festival, produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, will celebrate its 51st year of bringing the best in fine art and fine craft to Columbus. The Festival hosts hundreds of juried artists from across the United States, as well as a few international artists each year. Music, poetry and community performance stages, hands-on arts activities for the entire family, exhibitions of local student artwork and quality food and beverages round out Columbus' favorite outdoor summer event.
